Santa Cruz in Song and Image: Listen to the Music & See the Art
The surroundings of Santa Cruz provide an endless source of natural beauty for solace, reflection and inspiration. Guitarist Brian Gore and illustrator Bill Russell tapped into those sensibilities by using the ocean vistas and redwood-studded mountains around Santa Cruz as their palate for a collaboration blending instrumentals and paintings.
"Santa Cruz in Song and Image," is a "musical map" of the area. The pastoral and emotive compositions were kindled by regional nature and landmarks - like Natural Bridges, Felton Covered Bridge, San Lorenzo's "Garden of Eden," Castle Rock, Lexington Reservoir and Bear Creek Road off Highway 17. There’s also a song dedicated to local surfer and cancer survivor, Zeuf, of KPIG's Surf Report.
